Greg, take the wheels you have now and weigh them.
The cheapo ones may weigh quite a bit.

If they're real 2? piece wheels, maybe you can source some wider ones and rebuild the fronts to wider width with better offset. (put wider rim half on the inside of the fronts like in the other wheel thread)

I think if these wheels are decent that it's a great deal and they look good on a 928.
Greg if you want something different and that fits, try John at CCWHEEL.COM in Daytona Fla.Last year I bought 2 18x13 and 2 18x11 custom wheels mounted and balanced with 335 and 315 Toyo 888's delivered to CT for $4200 for my track car project. He knows about 928 wheel fitment and offset issues on stock 928's also.He got me the tires after discussing what I wanted to do with the car and he took care of the rest.He can get anykind of tire so options are wide spread. I'm very happy with my selection and they are super sticky.not good in the rain though. Ed.

The Cup4/Sumitomo combination is 50 lbs on the front, 56 on the rear.

I'd hold out for the Carrera III You should be able to find some take offs in the Southeast call around a few dealers. They will come with tires most times that will give you a little time to save for the Michelin tires as they are worth the extra money in my opinion.

Greg,

I agree with jpNcos, look around for some OEM Porsche take-offs. IMHO, I think the 5-spokes look best on a 928 (i.e. 18" Carrera III's or 19" Carrera Classics). You can usually find a pretty good deal on takeoffs, plus they're factory Porsche wheels (quality) and a lot of them come with PS2's on them (again, quality).

I got my 19's from Roger at Boardwalk Porsche in Texas a couple of years ago and got a GREAT deal ($1800 with virtually new PS2's). I would think they still sell them, but I'm at work and don't have his contact info. on me. Let me know if you want me to dig it up...
