Flex Plate
I finally got around to checking the Flex Plate and Crank movement today. Was excited to see the rear bolts were already taken off, so maybe this hsa already been performed a time or two. ( 68600 miles on the clock ) I released the bolt and the clamp moved about 2mm, kind of concerned at the time. Seemed to be alot. Checkeed the endplay it had .2mm of movement, checked several times. Now I hope to start the car for the first time since I bought it in October last year. Still have alot of work to do but with that checked, TB, WP, pullys, vaccum lines, powder coat, fuel lines and a host of other things maybe she will fire up with no real effort. Thanks to everyone for their info and Roger for the available parts. Soon I can move to phase 2. These picture are a before and getting near the end. Thanks Jack.

2 mm on the flex plate is what almost everybody has. About 2 to 3 mm.
And .2 mm for the crank endplay is good too. I think it has to be less than .4mm if I'm right.
Nice job on the intake.

your intake refresh looks great.
just a note make sure to use fuel injection hose for the new fuel lines it is ID by looking at the hose end there should be about 12 strands of thread, the low pressure hose has 6.
Ahh see if you can get the correct intake boot clamps, the ones that were on the car when you got make things look aftermarket

The hose clamps for the fuel lines are incorrect too. DO NOT use worm gear style clamps, they damage the fule lines when they are cranked. Buy the correct fuel injection clamps at you local parts store. They are chap and work a lot better/safer than what's in the pics.
