Default Chiptuning, what do you think ?

Hi guys,
I'm offered a performance upgrade witch will increase the horsepower and torque.
Does anyone have experience with this kind of upgrade ?
Is the 1990 S4 engine strong enough to deliver some extra power ?

I use my car rarely (it's my 4th car) so I'm not a daily driver so wear and tear is minimal.

Please give your input, they now give a 50% discount to € 299,-. They also do the modification for the money (what do they do ????). The package comes with warranty and money back when not satisfied.
It looks this is a decent company. I'll check their credits on the i-net.

Thanks,
Paul

Those would be auto authority chips.
Forget them.

The best thing you could do is sharktune your car.

The engine is strong enough. The modification is probably new chips in the computer and/or reprogramming the computer to deliver more fuel at certain rpm's.

I would not let a company do that to my car if they have no experience with 928's.

There are proven performance upgrades for an S4 right here on this board from the vendors. These upgrades have been tested a lot and proven to work. The easiest upgrade is an x-pipe. Then there are all sorts of serious upgrades which cost more.

But..the first "upgrade" to do is to make sure the engine works as it should. Most of the time the engine is not performing up to standard because maintenance was not done. Specifically, check:
- are the cams are timed correctly
- are the knock sensors working
- is the hall sensor working
- is the WOT (wide open throttle) sensor working?

If you need more info, send me a pm.

Good luck!
