Looking for a GT
If anyone knows of a nice GT out there for sale, please let me know. I've already seen the white one on the Denver Craig's list. Thanks, Eric

I have had a 1990 S4 Automatic, I have had a 1990 GT and I have now a 1989 GT.
The automtic was automatic. Lots of torque - no problem. But after a while too boring.
The 1990 GT was rough and smooth, tons of torque directly transmitted to th rear wheels. The feeling of driving a manual was a blast compared to the S4.
The 1989 GT is rough and now the 1990 GT is polished and too smooth. The mechnanic LSD and the differently cut gears are so rough and almost coarse compared to the 1990 GT, that it is another experience.
Is it just the differende in MY's ?
I do not know, but the 1990 GT was firm and fresh in the suspension. New Bilsteins (as some MY's of M474) and fresh stock springs. The 1989 has new red Boge (option M474) and Club Sport (M637) springs in the front. The 1990 GT had 18" rims and 1989 has 16" rims, and still feels more coarse and rough, but more sensitive to correct tire pressure.
Try all the GT's that You can get close to. As a passnger will do a good part of the trick, but to drive it as well.

I prefer the 89 GT experience but to be fair, the 90 GT had a stock suspension while the 89 has Bilstein/Eibach. I think it depends more upon the health of the individual car but there is something special about the 89 GT.

And also the 90 GT had only 50K miles, while the 89 GT has 100K miles. It stills seems rougher and more uncompromised, while the higher miles are actually showing, but still the different car shines through though.
