Default Just "woke up" the shark after a winter's sleep

Just came up to Maine last night and this am pulled back the cover, unplugged the trickle charger and cranked her over and fired right up, idled nice and smooth. No fluid leaks or drips. Been sitting under covers in the garage since November.

I'll be bringing down to Mass tomorrow and give it a once over and take care of a few small issues from last year.

Boy, it sounded good to here it fire up again.

Winter withdrawal up here in New England is hard.

Always fun to hear her after a long silent winter!!
Will be taking mine out soon but will do the TB/WP job before driving her.

Just finished buttoning her up (after TB, WP, all seals, alum reservoir upgrade) plus an an oil change last night . I also added a bottle of the synthethic Lucas Oil additive (yes, I know about the snake oil controversy argument) to the Mobil 1 that she has been accustomed to. Tomorrow it's time to fill the rad, triple check everything and fire her up. Can't help being nervous (afterTB/WP with porkensioner install). I pray the oil pump doesn't leak and the care I took with all the seals rewards me with a dry engine.

Nice Bob. That first drive always helps get the winter cobwebs off and get us all motivated for the quickly arriving summer.

So are you going to consider what I suggested last summer about showing your car in concours? You know it won't take much effort to get the car to that level.....

Afshin, thanks for the kind words about my car, but still not up to the standard of "Beverly Hill Car". I also drive mine every day I can in the 6-7 months a year it's on the road. I clock about 5-6K per year in those 6 months. But I am **** and give it a "bath" weekly to always make it shine

Most general maintenance is current with TB/Pump, Brake fluid, coolant, rear diff service and alignment done in oct 2008. Need to do an Oil change when I get it back to Mass.

Need to address MM and pan gasket this year. Might look into carrera 18" wheels and tires to update it a bit. Shhh...don't tell the wife

Don't forget to relieve the tension on the flexplate as part of your annual maintenance.

I suspect hearing you car start and run so smoothly after such a long delay is a bit like hearing your favorite lover's voice after a long seperation.
