Default Porsche Garage

It's sort of neat to have 6+8+4 cylinders all in a garage!

Working on a friend's 1980 928 to get it up to speed to sell. Drove it a bit today. What a sweet ride. It's hard to believe that thing is 30 years old. No wonder you shark fans are busting your butts keeping them alive! More pics as I dig deeper into this beast! (It's a two owner 5-speed with 45,505 miles). Maintained beautifully as far as I can see. (Owned by a millionaire--so you know it got what it needed when it needed it!)

Dan,

That is a nice 928 for sure!

Seriously if your 997 is a Tip and you EVER want to sell it...please give me a call! I LOVE the color and a cab is SO SWEET! First Porsche I even drove was my uncles '84 911 Cab in Iris Blue (that was the real light blue metallic Iris blue...not the later darker Iris blue)...

Here is my garage... Only V8's... Six of them though...I don't even have room for my other two! Well, not w/o buying a couple of lifts anyway (there is enough head room for them too!)

Now that is a happy garage!

Unrelated question- are the wheel hanging posts on the left the red Griot's ones, or from somewhere else? I need another set and they're NLA from Griot's.

Very nice garages shown here...

Dan: Can you post more pics of the car? Does it have an AIR body kit?

The blue car is 6-speed--only way to fly! The wheel hangers are from Griot's. I think he has some that are made with square tubes now.

I will upload some more 928 shots in a bit as I clean her up. The car has a body kit (obviously) on it which features the GT tail, rockers, and that newer front nose. The rear piece looks like a GT (and uses the GT lights) but without the center reflector--and also lacks any sort of "PORSCHE" wording in the center--moulded in, or decal.

I'm curious to see what it looks like.

One of the challenges AIR had was to fit the S4 tail lights to the old cars. The original S4 bumper covers and tail lights don't fit without sheet metal modifications, so they had to move the lights down and out a bit to make it work.

You can drive mine any time Dan.

Is that your garage or your friend's?

Dan,

Good and bad that it is a six speed...means I can't drive it, but that also means I won't be bummed if you ever sell it. Sure is a beautiful car!

Dan,
I that a 356C or CS in the right?

I one had a 356B 1600 Super and I really like the 356CS the ultimate of the time.

I then had a 1965 912 which had the same motor as the 356CS, beautiful car in Black with bone upholtery.

The first thought that came to mind when I view the three car in your shed was an old Arab saying "May the fleas of a 1000 camels infest your underwear".

Do you get a slight twing of jealously from this post.

Love the garage. That would be a sweet combo of cars to choose from on a daily basis.

A proper running 928 is an amazing car but you have to drive a good one to understand just how capable it is.

My garage. Two cars for sale soon--the 64 356 C and the 80 928. Cleaning them up and trying to get as much working on them as I can. The silver and red cars belong to a friend who is cashing out. He's getting too old to drive them. He's the original owner of the 356; second on the 928.
