Unlocking a stock Blaupunkt Toronto SQR 46
Hi,
I need to disconnect my main battery but I see on my stock Blaupunkt Toronto SQR 46 it is protected by a security code.
I don't have any code registered in my manuals so I'm a bit worried I can't use the unit after I disconnect the main battery .
Any suggestions form you would be very helpfull.
If a code is needed where can I get one ???
Thanks!

Doesn't the Toronto have a security card? Maybe you have a different version than I do.
Mine has a chip card that goes into a small orange tray. That tray is extremely fragile, and when it breaks it's about $200 to fix...

I sold the same unit recently, which came with the S4 I bought 4 years ago.
When I powered it up to test it, it didn't require a code to work fine. I queried a Blaupunkt 'unlocking' guy about this and his suggestion was that the code could be disabled as a user option in earlier units (I didn't have the manual nor could find one so no idea if he was correct).
Anyway if you do need a code, i found a number of people online who claimed to be able to supply the code based on the serial number.

The Toronto doesn't use the card system (I had a Blaupunkt Hamburg on previous daily driver which did - the card is very similar dimensions as credit card). The card sat on the orange tray Nicole described which popped out of unit right in centre below the display.
My identical Toronto was also marked "security coded" but required no such code when powered up! Happy outcome as it fetched a very good ebay price together with original amp. I valued authenticity less than getting shot of prehistoric tape deck!

Problem solved.
Just called the previous owner and asked him if he ever changed the battery and if the radio asked for a code. He had swapped the battery recently without any questions asked by the Blaupunkt he said. Funny the Blaupunkt is imprinted by security messages but don't have them.... Or maybe it was an option to remove the code security as mentioned above.
Thanks a lot for the input, I now can disconnect to do some electrical work!
