Appearances are deceiving. It looks like the fresh rubber look of my quarter glass seals may be hiding the fact that they are too old to seal properly. I found the source of my rear hatch leaks to the quarter glass seals.

Anyone have tips on replacing these? The last time I did quarter glass seals was on a 944 and used some string to pull the seal on the inside of the car to get the inner lip to wrap around the interior trim panel. Should I use the same procedures? also, do the rear interior panels have to come out in the hatch? Mine are leather and 'wavy' so I may find that DIY in the search to see if I can straighten them out.

Expect rust underneath. Possibly quite a bit of rust.

I found the presence of it already on one area on the driver side rear of the car and about a 2mm on the passenger side on the side.

I was shopping around to see if I can find some rust repair guys, but I may do it myself. I have some experience with fiberglass work on cars. I did have a 944 with an abusive previous owner after all.
