Default Cam install procedure?

I was wondering if anyone could send me the procedure to install cams from the Porsche book? My email is acinnadad@gmail.com.

My mechanic has never done one on a 928. He is concerned with the cam towers and how it is done w/ the engine in the car. I read a post and it said to remove the towers and dissassemble. Does that sound right?

Any help or thoughts from those that have done this in the past.

Thanks

Stephen

You have to pull the cam towers. They are what trap the lifter between the valves and the camshafts.

Stephen,
You are a brave man letting someone unfamiliar with 928's work on your car. It seems somewhat strange to me that the person you have entrusted with your car has no workshop service manuals. That said, if I had a scanner I would gladly send you the section dealing with the cam installation. Good Luck!

soontobered84 I trust Jose, my mechanic like I have trusted no other. He only works on German cars and is a friend of the family. It is just that he has never done cams on a 928 before. I am trying to get him some help to make it as easy as possible. I should change my name to soontobebluewithsilverstrip79!

Thanks for the link Fabio. There are a bunch of downloads so I guess I will have to download them all.

If anyone has a scanner and a manual I would really appreciate it.

Cheers

Stephen

You could call me and get your car done in a weekend!
One thing you need to do is listen to the group about what you are adding or modifying and your ultimate result will be. Just adding cams will not gain a lot, if your going to boost it you want to go in a different direction. A lot of knowledgeable people have offered advise and have tried a lot of mods not gaining what they had hoped. My 2 cents worth!
I have two black powder coated cam covers for sale cheap or trade or whatever!
