When the car is warm it won't start? If so check grounds as well. I had an issue like this with my old turbo and it was a bad ground from block to frame.

Turned out the return line to the gas tank was off and creating the smell. I had the car tuned as well and it is starting both hot and cold. Thanks for the feedback.
