so today i was bored and decided to hook up my crank case evac i had been planing on doing. but being that i had some idle issues i decided to rip off the decel valve. what a pile of crap. im SOOOO glad it is gone. now the car idles perfect and does not try to die at stops anymore. i took it for a drive around base and noted no issues with down shifting or anything.
here is the pile...
here on the crank evac, i added a copper pipe adapter to the stock hose end to get the 5/8 heater line to hook up
Here is the valve in the exhaust.
and here you can see the new black vacuum caps where the decel valve and the breather hooked up.
next project is the cold start system delete- ala- Porken
I got rid of the decel valve long ago but this is what I need to do instead of a dump can for the SC setup. Where did you get the valve that plumbs into the exhaust? Nice work!
i got it from Jegs, its a Dynatech part... number 1000950, jegs number 329-85-100950. it was 20 bucks. comes with the angled weld bung, a plug, and the pipe. i got the valve from the dorman section at autozone.
i routed the hose away from the exhaust and zip-tied it to the hard fuel lines. i use to have a set up like this on my old big block dodge dart race car. THAT thing made some heat, and the hose was fine. if i ever need to i will sleeve it with fiber glass but all is good.
