Default Stuttgarter Hofbräu

Cheeky line worker!

While fixing my wipers on my '85 (and cleaning out the valley of muck), I spied this bottle cap, upside down, in under the left fender. It turned out to be stuck quite well with body sealer, and had to have been put there when the car was assembled. (Probably going to leak, now.)

I bet Mark A has all sorts of stories on stuff found like this. Pretty cool if you ask me. I'd be willing to bet your car was a Friday build.

Funny, the brewery has a promo on their web page featuring Massive Töne.

Friday? What's special about Friday? Isn't every day Hofbräu-day?

Seems like this is taking weight reduction to an extreme.

when i tore out the carpet in my 81, i found a "10 cent" piece.... or 10 marks coin, what ever you want to call it. its funny when factory workers do things like this. when i was replacing the interior in my 89 full size K5 blazer, i found a 1989- penny- nickle-dime-and quarter under the rear cargo carpet.

Many factory cafeterias serve alcohol in Europe..............I found it very civilised but unproductive afternoons.

"...(Probably going to leak, now.)."

After seeing that now I'll start looking for them, could be more

Hmm. All I found when I took my car apart was a roach.

When I used to do construction work here in Marin and San Francisco I would find old news papers in the walls (usualy plaster and lath) from previous work with the person who did the work having singed it.
It was cool finding a news paper from the 30's or on one job the garage side door was singed from 1918 from people from Russia.

Was that a "roach" ala Cheech and Chong, or a roach as in "la cucaracha"?

I have found the initials and the names of some of the people who assembled my car written inside the door panels.

I plan on hiding some quarters in the panels of my 914. Cool stuff.

ONly thing I've foundin mine so far was a "turbo" emblem glued under my emergency flasher switch.. put there in the line to get the angle just right...

It's awesome. Proof that our cars were handmade. :-)
