Default Gas line replacement MY82 semi OB

Ordered and received the gas line replacement kit from Roger
Searched but seems like there really isn't a write up for the AFC MY 80-3 cars

Pretty straight forward but the short line fuel rail to injectors have me a little confused -

The kit supplies the short fuel line and 14mm clamps but looking at it - I don't think there is enough room to get 2 clamps in there --Anybody?

Here's pics of the rest of the lines that I'll be replacing - think this is all there is on MY 82.
2 return lines, pass/driver pressure regulator line

Another question -- the seals with kit - should they get lubed? Grease, oil?

Do you have a fuel cooler line up by the firewall. I did on my 85. Too - what seals are you referring to? I just had hoses and hose clamps.

The hoses can be cut the majority and will pull off. Or you can dremel/grind off the little caps as they are not required for reinstall. When you put new hose on these they claim that no clamps are required.
I have reused those little caps and no clamps and never had a problem.

There is another nut assembly at the base of those lines accessable from the bottom of the car.
Use a cutoff wheel or grinder to remove the sleeves and push new hose on. Use clamps.

Pic 3 and 4
Simple clamps just remove and the hose slides off. These have a slight belled ring on them to help prevent them from popping off, and to aid in the clamp to prevent them from coming off. You MUST use a clamp on these lines. No cutting will be required though.

Hey Bill

No I don't think the fuel cooler from 84+ years are on MY 82 -the WSM diagram 24-22, Air flow controlled fuel injection, doesn't have any mention of a fuel cooler - I haven't found it if it exists. Not by the firewall like on later years is all I can attest too.

I believe the injectors are going to need new o rings -at least thats my assumption -they were in my kit. -Just curious if there is some lubricant spec'd for reassembly

@Colin -thanks! That's what I wanted to know- do the o rings need a lube?

If you lube the o-rings just use a dab of oil on them. Not much just enough to lube the surfaces (like an oil filter)

And 82s did not have a fuel cooler.

The fuel injector does use the two clamps and short length of hose.
