Default How to disconnect door wiring?

I'm changing the seal on the right hand door, so need to detach the wiring so that the new seal can go round the loom connecting car to the door.

The top black connector is straightforward, but what's the sequence after that?

Do you have to unbolt the yellow connector? Do you unclip the black connector from the yellow one (if so what's the safe way of doing this), before you can remove the 'car side' yellow connector.

Grateful for any tips please. Don't want to wreck any vital window/memory wiring at this stage!

Thanks.

make it easy get a sharp razorblade and make a cut along the bottom edge of where the door seal goes feed it behind the wire loom then get some superglue and glue it back together you will have a hard time finding the cut once this is done

To try to answer my own question. I think I now disconnect the top yellow connector, then unbolt the yellow/black connectors as one piece from the door. Presumably the nuts are on studs and I'm not going to lose bolts down inside of door?

That's a good suggestion and very tempting Mr Merlin. Would also save me removing the cable fasteners in the door which look like they could snap.

Have loaded fresh blade into my knife as will probably do it your way!

Thanks

I was amazed, I cut my seal to get to something and superglued it, and you can't tell at all.

Make sure the cut is at bottom center of the door. This location is best because water runs off the seal before this point. If you cut it in either jamb area or on top somewhere water will leak in and do it's thing.
