Ahh, there has been some discussion about this car, I didn't see anything wrong with it. Good job, I think you will be happy with it.

Congrats... Pretty low mileage example. Really can't speak to the price as long as your ok with it. Enjoy the heck out of it.....

If the paint and the interior look as good as they *SHOULD* look for the miles (and it has the digital odo and presumably records to document the said miles) then I would say that is in fact a good deal! Only ONE of my cars has miles lower than this and most folks think my cars are NEW! So, it could be a hell of a nice car, and for that kind of money...a deal for sure!

Uh... just a little confusion on my part: The digital readout shows 14,640 miles but the information above it at the header says 44,2XX miles. Which one is it? Even so, if either one is accurate, its a low mileage and a good looking example.

Paul,
I didn't look at the pics...there must have been an odo replacement fairly early on... I wonder it the display had gone out or something... Well, hopefully the records back up the miles and the carfax should show what is up with the car too.

The only thing we need to mention is the following---- at 19K the odometer was replaced at Park Place Porsche-- we have all documentation and will be happy to email you the info.

It's actually around 41K. Failed odomter/speedometer at 27K. All service records match up.

nice 928.....priced "fair" at $15,400....I would say its at a premium to the buyer...but having odometer issues does hurt the value...even if everything lines up....since it makes buyers quite skeptical....

Chiod-1,
1) Timing belt: If the timing belt is up to date and has been serviced recently, then you got an exceptional deal.
If not, then you need to look at spending $1.7-$2k to have it replaced. Even with that you have a very nice looking car on your hands.
2) What does the PPI (pre purchase inspection) show? You did have one done, right? Are there any problems from the PPI that you need to know about?
3) Watch out for old tires and flat spotting. My 928, bought this past June was fine on the test drive, IE up to ~80 mph, but later when I took it above 90 mph, I had a vibration that only went away with a new set of tires.
4) Remember, its only money. You will have so much fun with that car, you will momentarily forget that you could have bought 2 or 3 Subaru's.. haha.
5) Red car = mucho tickets, haha. I bought a red sports car after college, I never had so many tickets in my life with any other car.
6) Depreciation: If you dont ever sell it, the 928 will never depreciate. Its a very simple fact that many overlook. So who cares about the speedo, etc.
Just buy it and come back and tell us what's wrong and we will all try to help you fix it up. Yea - Haaa
