I saw a Panamera last night and it must be the ugliest car Porsche ever made. The two door concept looks good though.

There should be no doubt that a coupe will come - the question is just when exactly. This year is the all new Cayenne, next year a new gen 911, so I'd guess it won't happen before 2012.

But it will come. No doubt.

And then we shall have our revenge!

A GT coupe, front engined, water cooled? Who could have imagined such a thing.....

Be back later, I'm gonna go drive my 23 year old one.....

I think if the Panamera shows strong sales then yes, a GT Coupe is possible. If sales are low, doubt there will be much chance of a coupe.

I completely agree. My coworker got one and every time I see it in the parking garage I can't help but feel like it should be chopped in half! Don't get me wrong I'd take it (or any Porsche for that matter) over my daily but the 4-door just looks wrong to me.

Maybe the GT will come faster if the Panamera DOES NOT have good sales...as in that might be a way to get some more mileage out of the platform before VW pulls the plug on it in 2016!

That concept looked pretty good, but more like a long nosed 911 than a 928 FOR SURE...of course that is what they are going for...keeping it in the family...

Yep. They can never say that the 928 was a good idea that needs to be revisited for fear of upsetting the purists that killed it the first time around.

As long as they pretend a front engine, V8, water cooled car is descended from the 911 everyone is happy

I agree with what others here have said; it's a lot better looking in real life than the photos I've seen. I actually like it.

What's going to come first, the Coupe GT or the killing of the Panamera platform?

Interesting take... My guess is that they will build the GT and keep it around after the Panamera has gone but that they will use the Panamera platform in an Audi model and thus still keep the GT as a Porsche... Just my gut feeling...it is also very logical to do that!

will be interesting to see how the Panamera sells, especially with the newly released BMW Gran Tourismo now available and against the already strong CLS MB.

If Porsche were smart, shouldn't they use the Panamera as the stepping stone to a new GT-928, to steal market share from GT's offered by Aston, Maserati, Jaguar, BMW? Seems that class is more stable to unique+performance, than the 4dr performance coupe with the Panamera...just a thought.

You know the nice thing about that new BMW?????

It is uglier than a Panamera and with FAR less performance! What the hell was BMW thinking...of course most all their cars are ugly as hell now that Bangle has screwed up their line!

Agree that Porsche's target SHOULD be the Maser GT, Baby Aston, etc... That WON'T be the case though! They will get that engine up beyond 5.0L by the time the GT comes out and the TT version will make more than 600HP and they will target the DB9 and the 599 and will wonder why they can only sell a handful of their $300k+ cars! IDIOTS! Same will be true for the Panamera after a full year of sales an they wonder why they only sold 11,000 of them (or LESS!) instead of the 25,000 they predicted. They will blame the economy, but they will also be wrong about that... it is $30k to $50k to expensive and to ugly...

A front engined 2+2 coupe with a watercooled V8 from Porsche?

Who the heck would want something like that?
