How timely - just sent an e-mail to Tim asking what's needed & price of upgrading from my Stage 1 to 3.

Here is the thread documenting the 86.5 we built for Shane Elliot, and his drive to Las Vegas and then Seattle after the build was complete:

https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...s-new-car.html

Since the end goal was a stage 3 we had limited time to play with the stage 1 setup on his car. We only ran his car at 6psi with the stage 1 kit with the following results:

Only modification to the car other than the supercharger is a Motorsports X-Pipe. Stock mufflers are still in place. Automatic transmission
Stock – 271.48rwhp
Stage 1 – 370.35rwhp (16.48hp per pound of boost @ 6psi)
Stage 3 – 473.61rwhp (18.38hp per pound of boost @ 11psi)

It should be noted he was running out fuel at the top end with the Stage 3 which can be cured with either a different fuel pressure regulator and / or an 044 pump. Because of this, the tune was kept conservative to keep him in a safe zone.

85/86 cars have a lower base fuel pressure than S4's which means even with the 42lb injectors, they are not quite enough for a Stage 3 with the stock pump / regulator. An easy upgrade is the S4 stock regulator that is a direct replacement.
Since Shane has a SharkTuner back home, he's working on these upgrades.

Tim's ordering the parts for someone else as we speak, will be assembled once Todd has a window to assemble it.

I'm somewhere in line

I would PM Tim to let him know your interest, I'll be talking to him later and I'll bring it up. Might be easier / faster / cheaper? to have Todd make 2-3 all in a row. I can only speculate on that.

Just got the 86 back from paint "will post pictures later when its all together", I would like an option or at least the hope of an option. I have been looking at Meth Inj but not made up my mind yet, but for $600.00 it is looking pretty good. Any idea of the price range?

No idea until Tim gets a quote on the core and Todd's labor. I'm just as interested so I'll send you the info as soon as I have it.

You should hook up with Adam in your area who has been talking about a Murf Stage 3 for his 86 (he's in the group picture in the thread I liked to for Shane's project).
You and Adam can cruise over to Green Bay, have an install party then head home. If time permits, we usually like to do a before / after on our local dyno with the SharkTuner attached.

We are working on a spring GTG and it would be fun to have an install or two that same weekend.

I'm working on some updates for the kits that will include an option to upgrade the fuel pump to an 044 right off the bat and possibly the S4 regulator for 85/86 cars too. Tim and I havne't finalized the details yet on this, just an FYI if you are doing any matinace these might be items to add to your list.

Does Tim have any plans on pursuing the US 16V SC? I know you guys were working on a prototype. Anything going to come of that?
Thanks,
