Thumbs up My Second 928GTS

Hi every one. Just wanted to share my new baby, which is my second 928GTS.
I love the car before but had to let go of it and got a second chance at getting this near perfect example.

Well, congratulations! Tell us a bit more about the car - what year, manual or automatic, colors, options, mileage, etc.

Where are you located?

Can you post some pictures of the car?

Had some work done on it, like changing the belts, tyres and brake hoses & pads. Other nigling bits as well like power window motor stuck, light relay and PSD relay.

Great! Thanks for the pictures. This is a very beautiful example of the 928. Great color combination!

Are you located in Brunei, or did you just buy the car from there?

It's nice to know there are enthusiasts picking-up these cars. This will hopefully keep them alive for a long time. I know there are at least a few active 928s there - I have shipped products to Brunei before. Hopefully you can connect with a few other local owners.

But for all technical questions, you found a great place. Don't hesitate to use the search function, and ask more questions.

Enjoy the shark!

I am having problems with the cooling fan, the 2nd fan is not running and the 1st is at full blast. I did check the fan motor by switching connection for fan 1 to fan 2 and the fan 2 runs but at full blast as well. Did checking as recommended in HVAC article but can't figure out if its the wiring harnest of the fan control unit which is bad?? so need help.

Hello,

Nice car there from the bulk sales.. The grey one next to your car is mine: hehehe. I saw your car at Thomas workshop. What have you done so far?

have you done the timing belt? I'm still waiting the parts from USA to arrive & the timing belt be done at RNF workshop at Bunut.

I'm having AC problem- Order few bits from 928sRUS- The "O" rings, dryer, - I hope it's not the cooling coil/Evaporator which is costly.

Wonderful car !!! And a very nice color (ahum) for a 1992 GTS.

The fans: swap the power stage on the front bumper, Easy if you can borrow one from a friend in Brunei. If that does not solve the problem, you go troubleshooting. I had a powerstage bad on my S4. It is a FET transistor controller unit and I had to replace the FET's and some stuff inside. Another possible culprit for the non-spinning fan is the power fuse, at the fuse panel. Each has a seperate 30amps fuse, #29 and #30 I think.

regards

Hi Z,
The first thing changed on the car was the timing belt, fuel regulators, brake hoses, rocker seal, MAF unit and finally the tires.
I had aircond problem in the begining, but filled R12 with oil on the third time and everything is fine now.(keeping fingers crossed).
You better not drive it around just yet till u change your Tbelt. I heard a couple of the S4 in BSB broke the belts as the owners thought the belt looked good and could zoom around. Hefty price to pay now!
We should hook up so that I can swap the power stage unit with yours.hehehe!

Z,
One thing you must check with your work shop is if they have the mesuring tool for tensioning the Tbelt. Remember the 1st 928GTS with airbags, the TBelt slip after replacing. Aircond u should check in gadong as they do porsches so they know their stuff, plus these are nippon Denso units so cheaper in this part of the world.

thanks A928GTS- Yes- i know I must change the belt. Still waiting for it. Just starts & drive near by(Under RPM 2)-but it's better to stop now.

Sad to hear couple of S4 broken down. One purple 928 S4 owner in Tutong is unaware of the timing belt. he said it's still new.

Who's 928 GTS TB slips? Over here in Brunei?

I'm just wondering where do you get all your stuff?-TB, MAF etc. & only Thomas workshop have the measuring tools for tensioning the belt?

We also hook up with another 928 owner who drive a coral red GTS. Great guy!

About my aircon- Only ask the shop to refill it two times. & they said it's the cooling coil leak- I still doubt it's the cooling coil which is under the dash.I know they are still new. The Gadong AC shop you mention- Is it near where?

Nice looking cars. Would be fun to see pictures of other cars that have been sold from the royal automotive concubine. Especially interested in that "purple" S4.

Good to have such an international group of owners. Welcome!
