Default Confessions of a Porscheaholic. 1991 55K GT Wedding Announcement

Confessions of a Porscheaholic.

Hi, my name is James, I may soon be an Certified Porscheaholic.

I was needing a cure but I settled for a FIX.

A 1991 Red Porsche 928 GT of my own.

She is a mail order bride that needs a final inspection but from what I know she is very good.

A PPI will be a verification for sure. Is there anyone in the Conshohocken, PA 19428 area that would be good for this ?

Even though she is only 19 she has been ridden by a doctor when he found her in 1996 at 39,324 miles.

Minor defects for her short mileage I am told.

Her service book is un-stamped but supposedly some records are available as to her health.

So, I have a few questions that I need advice on before we are married.

Her Differential Control Warning Light stays on. They say that this has been this way for some time but have been unable to extinguish it. They also say that the PSD is functional regardless of the light. Any ideas on this ?

The tire pressure warning light is also on.

I am awaiting more information that I may have to ask you about.

Thank you all in advance for your help !!!!

On the need for a PPI, Captain Earl is on board

Diff control could be and easy fix or quite expensive ($1000+). There are a number of threads on here addressing this issue, just use the search function.

Tire pressure monitoring doesn't surprise me. I think it's set for 36psi front and 44psi rear, IIRC. I don't know anyone who runs 44 rear, so if you don't it will always be on. This can be bypassed to silence the alerts, although you will obviously lose the function. It involves removing the RDK box under the dash and jumpering pins 13 and 2. Again, if you will do a search for how to disable the RDK you'll see it's been addressed before.

The car appears to have good potential. A little TLC will go a long ways. Good luck with her!

Should we start a new thread? My next ex-wife and how to deal with divorce?

Dealing with those "headaches"?

Multiple wives! Now legal in all 50 states, though your mileage may vary in California and NY.
