Rob, another trick on the shift boot which worked for me. After coating it in Rejuvenator, put it in a ziplock bag and put it on a heater in the house for a couple of weeks. Keep adding Rejuvenator to it as needed. This worked on my 87's shift boot. Alternatively, since you live in SoCal you can put it in the sun on a warm day while its in the bag, that should also work well.
I will keep the forum updated BUT will post the whole thing on my website since the pictures will take up a LOT of bandwidth and storage on this site. I am happy to write and such but do not want to wear out my welcome with self serving advertisement for our products.

Quick question for the experts...I have a small split/tear in the drivers side seat back bolster close to the door. Is it better to patch the hole before or after treating the leather. I was thinking it would be better to do the repair before treating as the conditioner may prevent the glue for the patch from sticking as well.

NO, SOFTEN first so you do not STRESS the leather trying to make the repair. We use Liquid Nails for the glue (water proof works best) and Popsicle stick to put it on to control where it goes. The problem of adhesion is solved by wiping the area with 70% IPA before applying the glue.
If you are trying for more of a show type of repair you would fill the crack with Crack Filler and then redye to match the car.

Agree 100% if you are restoring the car but if it is a DD save the $$$$ and restore. We will replace and restore the interior in the 1984 and just leave seat covers on the 1982 since they are just GONE. Will have them redone and then dye the balance of the car to match.

Luan-

Gotta recover from the stroker for a while before I get serious about the interior in the GTS- it's in good shape (in fact I'm not sure why the shifter boot is so dry when the dash and pod are fine, but I'm not complaining....) The seats are light gray and were re-dyed in 2003 - there's some overspray on the seat mounting rails. I made the mistake of sitting in/on some sport seats last year, at some point I may yet hassle Paul.

George...I'm guessing you can you make a dye to match an existing interior colour...for example, grey-green? I see you have several Porsche interior colours but no grey-green.

I believe George can match to sample if you can send one to him.

Thanks Afshin...I kinda thought so but thought I would ask. It's always nice to have some in reserve.
