OB door(s) hard to swing open/close lately.
The doors on both sides of my OB are have recently become much harder to swing open/closed. I sprayed some lube into the hinges, but it didn't help much. I did a search and everything seems to relate around the door handel mechanisms. Mine are fine. Door springs open no problem and latches closed fine too. it's just is taking much more effort to swing the doors open and closed then before. Any ideas what this could be and how to fix, what to check?

did you put any lube on the door arresters?? NOT the hinges. This is the part that keeps the door from swinging all the way open

As Stan said, you probably just need to lube the arrestors in each door.
As the arrestors wear, it actually should be "easier" to open and the 3 distinct stopping points start to wear after years of opening and closing the door.
I replaced the arrestors when I did the guts on the doors of the 79 several years ago. I never knew there were 3 stopping points on the door (just knew there was one-fully open) as they were worn out before I replaced them. Once I did, I found that they stop the door at partially open, about half way open, then of course the door stops when it's fully open. It actually was HARDER to open after I replaced them so I continued to lube the hell out of them. Once they wore a little, it got easier and easier to open fully, but they still retain the the distinct "stops" before they fully open. Maybe Porsche engineers did this to keep a big wind from blowing the door wide open and F-ing up the hinges??? Not sure, but they work good now.
