Default Project 928 book - eBay

Some on this list have been looking for the out of print book on the development of the 928. I noticed one for sale on eBay - a Texas owner. Know nothing of the owner or this particular copy of the book, but I do enjoy reading the copy my wife bought for me a few years ago, and wanted to pass this opportunity on to the community. Search eBay motors for: Project 928

Recently there was a copy on the german Ebay.

It was a signed copy ...

... signed by Ernst Fuhrmann.

That's awesome! He was "on the scene" for 928 development and testing.

Will be interested to see how high this goes since the community knows about it. Picked mine up for $150.00 a few years ago off e-bay. This one is in much better condition than mine.

Maybe I shouldnt say this, but the Ernst Fuhrmann signed copy was up for auction, with a starting price of EUR 99.00. No bid came, so it went out again.

This is the first auction:

The second auction ended at ... the link is here (This may cause some grief !):

Either way, there is good copy on the german Ebay - "Buy now" price is EUR 165.00. Seems to be in a fine condition. http://cgi.ebay.de/porsche-book-PROJ...item5885820589

I guess a signed copy would be worth something, but it's not a great book. I got a PDF copy, which I had printed for $20 at FedEx Office. I went through it in half an hour-the pictures and photos were more interesting than the text.

I personally think it is a great book, and as a fan of the 928, I feel very lucky that the design stage was so well documented.

I agree with Paul...great reference material and it really gives you an idea of the struggle within Porsche at the time for finding the next great car to replace the 911. I have to say my favorite part of the book, however, is the limited edition leather slip cover that Paul made for it! I LOVE IT!!!

You are one of the 25 lucky ones. I don't even have one

They sold out in 2 days. So I'm pretty sure that at least 25 people like this book

Well, unless you went to the Photon school for speed reading, you didn't actually read the the whole book.

Paul,
Darn it.... they are not available anymore. Put me down as first on the list for the next batch. Thanks.

Paul,

At least you know how to make them and have all the stuff on hand to do so! Not so much me or the other fans here! :-)

I think my copy was around $140 on eBay. I have one of the 25 Champagne covers (#5)!!

My book is minty, but the cover has some wear and couple of small tares. Anybody know a company that can copy the cover?
