Door Speakers
I bought a set of Diamond 343's for my new door panels. The tweeter is smaller than the original hole and it comes with no speaker grill. What grills have you guys used for aftermarket tweeters in your doors? No I don't have either of the original grills but the new 4" speakers grills are included already.

What after market speakers are you using in your 928?
Most speakers(OE) in my car have cracks etc. & to fit in a new one- Most shops here don't offer the small size speakers that fits into my car. Only they have the slightly bigger ones which don't fit.

I think I learned of these speakers from you Jason....
When I installed my DA 342's (same as 343's), I took the stock tweeters out of their mounting plate, there's some screws and I think they are glued in, but not hard to get out. It destroys them in the process. Next I took a dremel with a 1" cutting wheel and started making a recessed area a little bigger than the new tweeter, and about 1/4 deep. I hot glued the new tweeters in place and reinstalled the stock grills. The stock grills fit snug against the new tweeters and would probably hold them in place without the hot glue. I'll see if I have any pics. It's worked out well and I love those speakers! Great price and great sound when driven through a mid size amp. Also love the fact that the 4" speaker grill looks so much like the stock grill, so you can toss the original and not have to worry about the ring breaking.
If anyone needs a set I know a local source for under $100.

I don't have a shot with the grill off, but here's the final product....
The only difference I could find in 342's and 343's is that 343's have some red in the logo on the larger grill.

It's best to do this with the original grills there not that much money used or new. I made a post regarding the DA 343's when I did my speaker upgrade. I even have website showing all that I did. The nice things about the DA 343's I used they fit perfectly in the stock location other than the tweeter. Feel free to check my write up out.

Problem is the grills are 50.00 from mason and 85.00 if I want the junk speakers too which I need to cut up to make the tweaters work. Price to value is just to much for me.
