Your wife and SITM
#46
The risk of the ring connecting high Amp connections is so low as not to be of consequence in my book. However a ring with a stone set in it is a prime candidate for having a missing stone. Take them rings off working on the CAR. A good way to do this is take your watch of as well and thread rings onto the strap of the watch. Somehwhat less easy to forget or lose when the mechanicing is over.
RE SITM.- having been to 3 frenzies, 2 OCICs ( the most recent from Australia) We haven't managed to attend a SITM despite encouragement from the US. i wish we'ld done it whilst living in the UK as the aiir fares from OZ are significant.
Re wives attending - the best organised event (this wasn't) we went to was Euro 928 2003 (I Think) we arrived and at about 9:30 am Sue Wren grabbed the microphone at the Porsche Dealer in Aachen and announced that the ladies were going shopping followed by lunch.
By mid afternoon I concluded that shopping and lunch was actually bettter than wheel alignment. At about midnight I did have to go on a wife hunt, the lunch had taken it's toll, the late night Mr 928 contest (narrowly lost by Jay Kempf) failed to amuse and sleep won. Unfortunately in the ladies restrroom.
There is more than enough fun for 928 wives at 928 events. `

She put those 10 boots on, I turned my back, she was gone!
Ring wasn't in much danger, at least not for long.
She would drive to SITM but I think would want to see other sites pretty quickly.
There is a lot to see around there.

Maybe a couple of the ladies should get together and plan some "Ladies Only" events for SITM, maybe LITM? At my companies Distributor meetings they always have activities for the Distributors wife's and encourage their attendance. Seems quite popular with the ladies. Have seen similar co-events while active in R/C airplane events.

I seem to recall my wife grabbing another wife AND my 928 to go shopping one year. I seem to recall having to TAKE my wife shopping another year, missing the drive and the dinner, being stuck in a hailstorm under an overpass.

"I love driving the car, I do not want to stand around discussing engines oil or suspensions. Just put me and the other wives on a track TO DRIVE and we will be happy"!!!!
Yeah baby like that's gonna happen....

I'm moving to Charlotte in March so I will be close...after careful thought and consideration, I'd say the chances of the G/F accompanying me are slim to none
This is of course assuming that my shark is done in time for the event

The wife bought mine with thought that it would get some damage from it. My problem is remembering to put it back on when I'm done working.
As for Angela coming to SITM, not much of a chance, she doesn't like long car rides, especially in my car, which is a bit too loud. She wonders if I plan it that way on purpose.
