how do you perform a leak down test

ON a race engine we hook a pressure gauge to a dry cylinder and spin it over like a compression test and then see how long it takes the cylinder to go down. Then we do it again wet. Trick is to get BOTH valves CLOSED when you do this.
There is another way but that is the way I have done it for 30 years.

Steve944 I was THINKING Compression Test. There is another thread about the Correct way to do the test. Involves an air compressor and such.
