Unhappy 88 S4 Central Locking unit location

This Control unit is a ghost... I looked in all possible mentioned locations but with no luck.
It is not in the center console, not under the seats, not behind the glove box, ???
Where else should I look? ( am I overlooking it?)
My problem is that the lock ***** work fine without key in igition but when key is in position 1 or 2, they stop working but the push buttton does not work either eventhough it lights up if both doors are locked.
Also, once I tried with the key in the ignition, then turn to position 0 or remove the key, the door ***** or dials won't work till you open a door they work again.
Any Ideas???
Thanks

Never mind about the location, I was looking for part # 911 618 113 00 but I found one that is 928 618 125 00 which turns out to be the control unit, so now I can diagnose the problem.
Any help on the other issues will be appreciated.

Verify that the door sensors are connected and worked properly. I had to lock my door on the passenger side until I realized the drivers sensor was loose. Learning....gotta love it.

EDIT: WOHOOO Post #500!
