This is what it looks like:
From other forum posts you may ask for injector testers instead of Noid light!

Noid lights are pretty cheap though, last I saw them at AutoZone, I think they were about 10 bucks.
I bought mine from autozone. Its in the tool isle. It says NOID LIGHT on it and there was three of them to choose from. One for Ford, one for GM and another for Bosch Port Fuel Injection systems. I bought all three of them in case. Its the GM one that works with it.

Rented??? I bought my specific light for about $4...it's a valuable tool and solved a missing problem I had with my 951. A great tool to have,

The injectors are grounded by the LH so any short in your harness will short out the whole group. The only way to test for a short is to remove all the connections, both control connectors and ox sensor and see if the harness is shorted. Most likely the short will be under one of the boots where you can't see it.

arlight what im kind of getting at is you want me to unplug the 8 connections to the fuel injectors, the oxygen sensor 'will have to find that', and then some how find out where the short is. let me know if im on the right path. so do I use a multimeter on each fuel injector connector? if so what settings should it be on?

Yes all inj connectors, both computer connectors and the round connector removed. The round connector is found on the bottom left of the CE panel it is usually green and connects to your ox sensor. Once this is done you should read an open on your meter; "that is no continuity". To do this take your meter on one of the connectors and see if it's shorted. If it reads shorted time to look at each Inj, look for the one that maybe the most twisted, bent or other wise kinked. Look close to where it enters the boot for any open or showing wires. Then it's take a guess ,I would try for the middle passenger side and rear inj first, process of elimination. If you see no damage then the only other option, if it is shorted is to open the boot and you may see that the wires are turned to toast, insulation is crumbled off and now shorting. The other thing you can do first is while your meter is attached move the Inj connector one at a time and see if the short goes away.
Good luck
P.S.
I went through this on two of my cars!

after the rain im going to look for the short, i have browsed around and read theirs a ford fuel injector
connector that fits im going to try and see which one it is, i heard its dirt cheap I am assuming all i have to do is snip the old ones off and clamp the new ones on.

Here's a link to a thread on a similar problem. https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...or-thread.html
The fun part starts at post 14, where I describe a way to check the injector harness condition from the protectionrelay socket on the brain bracket, using an ohm meter. This is good for the '89+ cars only, sinve the pre-'89 cars don't have that relay. Lots of other good info further on whwre several listers are working the same symptoms.
