James,
Can you explain this feature a little more for me. I haven't found much information about it other then when the light goes on there is a reset button. Does this mean the O2 sensor needs to be changed or does it just go off every 60k miles? Thanks in advanced.

the WSM says every 30k. it seams to just be a reminder that tells you to change out the O2 sensor..

When your car was built, no one had any idea how long an oxygen sensor would last. In order to play safe, Porsche decided to put a mileage check on the sensor.

The switch has nothing whatsoever to do with the operation of the oxygen sensor - it is just a simple mileage switch.

Take it out and don't worry about it. It isn't too likely that even the emissions police will care. Just be careful to make sure that the wiring is properly dead-headed.
