new timing belt
new water pump
all new gaskets
new diagphram damper
new brakes
new vacuume lines
new belts
new front tires
new speakers
new cd player
new alternator
new fluids and filters
powder coated intake manifold
new air intake tubes
1000 watt amp and 2 10in subs (not installed)

bad:
needs new paint (clear coat is peeling and my sister backed into it so theres a dent in the drivers side front fender)
needs a new rim (hit a pot hole and now it doesnt hold air, leaking at the valve stem)
needs lots of interior work
radiator needs cleaned, the car overheats after a few miles

Sounds like he might be a little negotiable on the price, but he did just drop it a couple thousand.

I'm not digging the black rub strips on a white car, but whatever.

I wonder how he knew that it over heats, that is the only scary part.

Agreed. And for him to drop the price 1/2, makes me wonder if he knows more than he's letting on. Also could be a simple fix too. I'm guessing you could get the car for $2k, which is not that much of a chance in my opinion. I might do it myself if I think too long about it.
