Battery Tender-Safe to Leave On?

I have a Schumacher too - their guidelines are stupid.... The output stage is non conducting when off - I know because I tested it (no leakage at all). Mine has been connected to my battery permanently for the last 5 years - it causes absolutely no issues (it would quite be stupid if it did right? e.g. consider if your power went out or the circuit breaker tripped...)

I have had a trickle charger(1.6A max) on my garage queen for years. First battery lasted 6 years with this treatment so I doubt its done any harm. We dont get very cold here 5-40C/41-105F. Connect it after a run, red light lasts 4-6 hours before going green.
