Herman is down in Seabrook, I believe, a bit of a drive, but he may be up for coming. We should all meet somewhere (maybe Market Square) for breakfast on the 3rd (Sunday) maybe La Madeleine. My car won't be drivable by then, but would love to see some others!
Yeah - lets just keep an eye on the weather and pick the better of the 2nd or 3rd to meet up. Market square sounds good. Herman's always up for a road trip...
I should be able to make it up to the Woodlands on the 3rd, but afternoon would be better for me. The only problem I can see is that I was planning to do motor mounts between Christmas and New Years, so if I run into any issues or parts I have to order, I might not have it back together by then.
Doc, as I learned coming up for OCIC, DFW is only 3 hours away in a 928! Especially from the Woodlands, but still a bit far for a day trip for me.
Maybe this will be what we needed to get a regular Houston gathering going.
I can email Mike Swaran when the plans firm up. I don't think he reads the forum.
There are definately others in Houston that might want to drive up. I believe Bill and I both have new sound systems to show off.

Don let me know if you need a helping hand doin MM on the "He(r)man car I done mine about 1 year ago (do you have the engine lift bars?) I'm up for the get-together (I can demo the recently new style short shifter) where ever that is. We also should try to get hold of "Wild Bill" (he recently moved from Austin perhaps James has his contact info) Soot me a PM, email or call.
We might have Bigs down too, depending on his schedule. Could be a good turnout. I know I'll have my car there, the rest of the regulars will be there. Put the guy with the Valentine 1 in front and haul your asses up here!
Thanks for the offer. I don't have the lift bars, but do have 2 floor jacks and 6 jack stands, so should be able to get it up in the air pretty well, but not as easy as with the bars.
Instead of killing myself trying to do it all in one day, I'm thinking I will spread it over 2-3 days depending on how it goes. I'll probably start Sun the 27th or Monday the 28th. Let me know if you want to stop by. Warning, I have oil leaks so it will be dirty job...

I may still have the lift bars (home made) I used and if I do your welcome to use them sure makes the jobs a lot easier without floor jacks taking up the space underneed. if your doing MM only you can do it in one day if yr planning on MM and cc gasket you should plan for 2 - Do you have Porken lift bars? I do if you need them
Don..............I've done the MM project followed by the OPG so essentially BTDT twice. The first time was using the jack under the engine the second was using an engine hoist (thx MikeB) ................lift the engine from above if possible; makes the job go very much easier and change the OPG at the same time using a silicone gasket and a stud kit.
Ole...............you never told me you had so many friends in Tx?.......................sounds like quite the party
I have the silicon pan gasket from Roger, what's the stud kit? Don't you reuse the existing pan bolts?
Haven't read all the writeups yet, but it sounds like I do need to lift the engine, either with a hoist or the HomeDepot 4x4 creation from Dwayne's writeup.
