Default Cooling layout

I searched the workshop manual, but I can nowhere find a drawing of the complete cooling system layout (including the in-car heater radiator). Can anybody help me? Which two hoses go to the heater radiator? I know of the connection to the valve under the airfilter, but where's the other?

Thanks in advance!

The return line from the heater core runs to one side of the metal Y-pipe on the right side of the engine compartment. The other side of the Y connects to the coolant reservoir and the far end connects to the large nipple on the coolant bridge on the front of the block. See below.

Hope this helps.

Thanks! I didn't know that. This set up is similar for S4 and pre-S4 cars?

That picture come from the Porsche PET part system program. An essential tool !

You can download a poor version from here.....
http://www.porsche.com/usa/accessori...artscatalogue/

But a better idea is to buy the Jim Morrehouse WSM on CD-ROM from Roger Tyson, this has a PDF version of PET that is much better.

All years use basically the same layout. The OB's have a single bleed connection to the reservoir. The bleed line has a Tee fitting that branches the bleed line to the radiator and to the coolant bridge on the block. The '83 and up substitute a pressure switch for the Tee and use individual bleed lines from the radiator and coolant bridge. The PET has good diagrams of the hose layout, except the connection to the heater return circled in the shot in the previous post.
