Default Heater Valve same as Mercedes Part?

Someone in Germany posted that the 928 heater valve is identical to the following Mercedes part number:

MA000 830 57 84

In Germany, the Mercedes part costs about a third of the Porsche part.

Has anybody tried this from Mercedes?

Probably not necessary, because it's available as OEM part, but interesting nevertheless.

Hi Nilcole,
That is the OEM Mecano Bundy heater valve that I sell all the time (I am sure the others do as well).
Identical to the Porsche unit. I sell it for $17.95.

Yes, I thought it's the same part as the OEM we see over here. But nevertheless, it's good to know that it is also used in certain Mercedes models... in case you ever get stranded near a Mercedes dealer.

No, that would be the standard heater valve we have in our cars.

I saw a nice metal heater valve on a '91 Jag the other day. They are normally open, like ours.

Part#: CBC2536 - $60ish

Hmmm...I read on a Jag board that one cheap replacement for this valve is a Four Seasons 74803 - $14ish. They also said that this 'poppet type' has a better seal than the rotary type.

(Also, mentioned in Rennlist thread, here)
