Default Anyone using Blackfire wax/sealants?

Hey all,
I have been reading up on waxes and the products by this company seem to rate very high although they arent as well known yet. from what I have read and pics i have seen the sealant looks incredible. I searched the forum here and only saw it mentioned once. Just bought a kit and will be using it over the holidays so will try to post some before/after pics.
any experiences with it?

Wax and Sealant is only as good as the preperation of the paint (polishing). Wax and Sealants will mildly change the reflective qualities of the paint which will give it a "different" look depending on what you're using.

Either way, most products these days are good and last at least 6 weeks but not all are easy to use and smell nice which IMHO is where the real differences come in.

I used Blackfire sealant on my GTO. I thought the results were decent, better than the product I was using previously...but now i don't recall what that was.

The premium products of choice on that forum tend to be Dodo Juice, Carbon Boys (I think) and a third I don't recall. The price points on these trend more toward porsche than GM (or Holden)!

Yes, it seems like everyone has a personal favorite and there are many good products to choose from. Im sure most of them will be pretty nice. There was a nice 928 posted on some detailing site
http://images.google.com/imgres?imgu...%3Den%26um%3D1
around the middle of the page. they were using Meguiars

I've used a little bit of everything and pretty much stick to the stuff on this page:

http://www.autodetailingsolutions.ne...laze-line.html
The list of what I don't have from that page would be shorter than my inventory sheet.

Every spring, full machine polish with these fun toys:
http://www.autodetailingsolutions.ne...polishers.html
http://www.autodetailingsolutions.net/dw849.html

I also have most of this page in the garage too:
http://www.autodetailingsolutions.ne...iler-line.html

Great stuff especially the concentrated glass cleaner, all purpose cleaner, and Last Touch (basically concentrated quick detailer, different formula that what you find at the auto parts store).

The hobby of car care went from fun to stupid expensive with one order

Yeah but its still relaxing and results are probably greatly improved!

I love buying car cleaning tools, they make it so much easier and more fun to perform the tasks more regularly. I just bought a foaming gun from Griots which has significantly reduced my wash time and improved my results. Unfortunately it does use more product.

Harbor Freight sells one for like $10:

I've read reviews comparing to the Griots gun, it is inferior but dirt cheap.

Then you have this:

If you really want to foam things up, do a search for the foam attachments for power washers......yeehow...

I really haven't seen any negatives to using the Griots Foaming Nozzle and for $29.00 its hard to beat. Very similar to what is shown on the Meguiars website athough it doesn't have the brass.

The key is proper water pressure and using a high concentration of product. Like I said, it uses soap like crazy but works really well and I haven't introduced any scratches on the paint. I'm not that frugal to watch how much soap I use, besides I've been getting the soap for free at car show for years!

Finally got around to cleaning and waxing. This was a wash followed by claybar then Blackfire polish, then a Blackfire Blackdiamond sealant with a coat of mequiars carnauba wax....nice reflections, eh?

Very nice. For myself i prefer Zaino products. On darker colours Zaino has more depth compared to even the best Glazes and Brazilian Carnaubas.

I don't have the knoiwledge/skill to risk any polishing or buffing, but I have used many different waxes.

I do a wash then claybar, then wax. Meguiars Next or even a good basic carnuba paste like turtle wax will leave the car as shiny and slippery as it can get. I have read many threads with pics on all different forums and my conclusion is Meguiars is as good as any.

The blackdiamond is nice and very slippery to the touch after it sets in but it would look much better on a darker color. silver is hard because it can look shiny but doesnt get the depth that darker colors tend to get.
