This was a message from John D. a little bit ago.

Someone e-mailed me that there is a thread about someone having difficulty getting on RW early this AM? I can't find it, tho'?? Anyway - in short...

Yesterday, I spent the afternoon reprogramming a number of my circuits - and a 2AM (I have a difficult time bringing sites down during "prime time" - that's just me..) - I switched two older circuits (SDSL) out into a new T1 and moved a couple of network services into the business fiber circuit.

Anyway - myself and the entire RW staff (two of us - if I'm looking in the mirror HEH!!) got everything done without any major outages and finished up in the wee hours of the AM EST. I did reboot several routers/switches & firewalls as I moved IP blocks around between 4AM & 5AM..??

I apologize to anyone if they couldn't get on during that time.. I've done this stuff for so long, I could probably do this in my sleep - which is why I left everything up during the transition.. Or maybe I did fall asleep while porting a few IP blocks..??!!

John

Wow man, you just rocked my world!

Maybe down was really just an up in actual life traffic.

Sounds like a self-serving DNS server.

underdog - so has John. His site uptime is outstanding both on RW and previously here. No matter what though, "stuff happens" and nobody has 100.0000 percent availability.

I'm impressed with John's candor on the down time situation. Maybe IB can follow suit.

Sorry to everyone and to John D. (if he is listening) for my over-reacting rant this morning. It was uncalled for, please except my apologies.

Your "collective" comments, however, were hilarious. I deserved them.

Now onto more important "Porsche" related thoughts......
