Need help on Mega Squirt Conversion on 84
I have the Edis hooked up and ready to go but have a couple of questions on enabling the FP relay.
On an 84 I know it uses a safety to stop the Fuel Pump if it looses signal from the green wire. I would like to keep this active and need to know the best way to hook this up. V3.0 of the Mega Squirt asked for a FP relay to drive both the ox sensor and fuel pump, this is enabled by a main relay when the key is turned on. I would like to tap on to the CE panel and use an external relay but can I use what is already in place. The computer controls this so what location would be best to attach the connections.
I was told that we will not need the IAC and it can be compensated via programming is this correct?

When I converted my 84 euro which was LH, EZF, no green wire, I used the existing fuel pump relay. In fact I used no external relays for anything. I pulled the CE panel and used wiring pinouts for the LH and EZF to build a new engine harness that used all the stock relays. I bought a bunch of relay sockets off ebay and pulled the terminal connectors from them and used them to plug into the connectors on the CE panel. I would have to look into my notes to let you know what connectors I used. If you search LH pinout I think you will get some nice pinout diagrams post by I think Porken. I also machined up a custom IAC body and am using a stock GM IAC motor, it is working great.

Thats what I am thinking the L-jet uses a special relay but the same idea. If the motor does not turn over the fuel pump relay will not engage, so I thought about the L-Jet relay taking it off of that. Now I need to find a wiring diagram for an 84 L-jet so I can locate the CE panel pin outs. The only other thing is getting the Inj grounds off of the Lh harness.

I am currently running fuel only so the EZF is still controlling spark. I have all the stuff to go EDIS but just need the time. I was very happy with the fuel results.
