Default early 928 exhaust options

on my 81 id like to replace the exhaust. but the muffler delets that i can find are for newer ones. id like to x pipe and dual mine, but i cant find a kit. is this going to be a muffler shop job?

I asked the same question to a few guys that had performance exhausts for sale. Apparently all that's available for the early models is a Y pipe. Or the road to the muffler shop

Unless you build one hell of a motor or go with boost, a single 3" exhaust is all you need.

Start by upgrading to the 85/86 exhaust manifolds then go with one of the available Y - back systems available.

No,
We have the 85/86 manifolds and exhaust but you'd need a muffler shop to connect the 2.
