All of the big three or four or whatever it is have parts AND good advice on using them, and I would not hesitate to send someone to any of them. I think I have bought something from just about everybody, and at the time that source was best for me.

Best source of parts is going to depend on you, your knowledge, the type of part, when you need it, where you are, who's going to put it in, and what your long term intentions are.

www.928srus.com - although phone, e-mail or PM Roger Tyson (ROG100) here (although I noticed today that there's an online shop in the works?)

Between the three listed in this thread so far, that covers all my needs to date. They have some overlap, but also each offer unique items and services.

www.pelicanparts.com is a decent website. If you compare prices there is maybe about a $5 dollar difference between them. you can also try www.rockauto.com for somethings.

There is also www.vertexauto.com for comparison purposes. I use 928rus, 928International, and 928 Specialists mostly, but also look at prices from Pelican and Vertex.

www.autohausaz.com

has a few parts available for our cars and often has some large discounts. Also free shipping on orders over $50.

They are cheap, almost always in stock and best of all, you use the PET drawings to pick parts. Pretty cool and almost impossible to order the wrong part. I have tons of love for the big 4 rennlist supporters here, but DCautomotive has it going on. Also their shipping is very reasonable and combines for multiple items unlike a couple other websites.

928sRus is not a web based supplier as yet, infact my business model is to not be a web based supplier.
There are lots of those already.
We prefer to offer a more personal service and tailor the parts needs for each individual customer.
That way they can be certain of getting exactly what they need for their car.
We watch all the noted web based suppliers and ensure our prices are LESS than their's.
We ship the same day in most cases. We ship World Wide.
If we do not have parts in stock they are delivered the same day by our wholesalers.
Porsche delivers to us direct out of there three main wharehouses the same day.
If a part has to come from Germany it is normally with us in 48 Hrs at no extra cost to the customer.
If you want something more personal and don't like shopping with a plastic cart come to 928sRus.

We also supply all parts for all P cars as well as Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Mini to name a few.
It is interesting how many of our 928 customers have other cars in their stable.

Only because I didn't reply yet!

The dealers may surprise you and your mechanic. There are some commonly-replaced parts that Porsche can provide at a significantly-lower price, but this is of course the exception, not the rule.

If you're into price shopping, then condsider Sunset Porsche among all the others listed here.
If I were to buy from a Porsche dealer, Sunset would be my first and probably only call.

The 928 dedicated suppliers are where I get 95% of my parts.
