Default Trunk Latch Plastic That Keeps Trunk Closed

When shutting my trunk the other day some plastic bits broke around the latch that is on the body of the car (not on the hatch). Does anyone happen to have the replacement latch or know of a fix so that the hatch will latch closed again. The pics below show what I am talking about. I am guessing that the whole assembly will need replacing???Thanks!

Sorry but we do not have them any more.
They were breaking as the material was to brittle.

We are working on a injection molded replacement.

Roger-

I sent a hatch receiver to Chris Patrick, who was working on this. Are you in contact with him? I talked to him in June and he said he'd talked to you and the his insert cost was ~$50. Did anything come of that? Or do you have another manufacturer lined up?

I think you have to buy the whole latch to get that part, many of us need one.

The complete latch assembly is $100 so the plastic insert has to be a reasonable price otherwise you may as well buy the Porsche part.
I did talk with Patrick but felt that the overall costs were to high, can't remember the detail but I passed on it.
Working with one of our own - Rennlist - experts to put this one to bed for once and for all.

You can drive your car. You just can't use the electric hatch opener. Make some shims out of plastic and slide it in between the white plunger and the rear wall of the latch to get your hatch to latch shut. Buy another one when you can.

Thats what I ended up doing. Every work around failed after a few opening and closing of the hatch. The $100 was cheaper than the time and energy screwing around with it.

Thanks for the props on the laces! They are healys, its funny as hell seeing the look on kids faces as a skate past them in the stores.

I guess i may have to bite the bullet and nab one but damn 100 bones...I can get a whole parts car here local for 600 that has a good latch.

After much hard whoring around I found one guy who has one for $45.00 I think that includes shipping. Any thoughts if I should wait for a better deal? this just seems a little steep.

What else can you buy for your car that's only $45? What are you getting for $45? Is it just the piece you are missing or is it the whole assy.? If its a used reciever you need to make sure that the rubber insert is good. Usually they aren't and you will be in the same boat you are in now.

Thanks for the heads up on that. I am pretty sure that it is the entire assembly. I have asked for pictures and hope to get them today, so I can make sure it is the whole thing.
