Auto transmission rebuild ahead - add LSD

My early '86 US-spec 928 S will likely need a transmission rebuild soon; currently the diff is a 2.20 ratio open unit (I think). I'm hoping to source an LSD, freshen that up, and install as part of the transmission work. Any advice? I may have found a used LSD on eBay but the seller is being stingy with the responses to my questions. So ...
1.) Any general advice on the transmission rebuild?
2.) LSD - yes or no? (I really miss my E30 BMW and the LSD it had)
3.) When evaluating a used diff - what should I look for?
Thanks to all ...

You can find good used LSD's for under $1k....but what you need to ask yourself is how you drive your 928...if you do lots of autocross events with hard acceleration out of tight corners..then yes its a good idea...if you do most street driving, even spirited street driving....I'd say its not worth it...... I found driving my automatic S4 on the track with an open diff was just fine....but there wasn't that many hard acceleration low speed corners either.....when pushed really hard the open diff actually makes the car a little easier to control, vs drifting around corners...but it sure is FUN...
