84 automatic ATF capacity and rear end??
I can't seem to get my WSM to work properly....does anyone know what the ATF capacity of an MY 84 automatic is?
Also is the rear end seperate from the automatic or is it ATF as well....if it is seperate how much 75-90 gear oil does it take?
Thanks

IIRC it took about 8 qts Dextron to fill my 84 trans.
Brian there is also a part called an intermediate plate, this connects the transmission to the rear drive there is a small hole on the DS of this plate if either of the internal seals are leaking then the leaking fluid will come out of the this hole.
The rear drive can be separated from the trans while the trans is still in the car, but the cross member has to come out first

Brian............the quantities I stated are from the '84 Spec book.
I keep a close eye on the res. level marks as 8l may be too much..................I'm sure you know how to refill properly.
