Default My 1979 928 5 speed

After reading some post, it would seem a lot of people like to see pictures of 928's. Here is my 1979 928 5 speed vin 9289202274.

I bought it blind for 1000. I know the motor turns over and drives, the gears change, hard into 2nd and a little into 3rd, and it stops fine. The guy said it had been sitting for a while so i know i will need to change all the fluids and make some adjustments. I always wanted a porsche and now i have one. It is a project car that needs some TLC.

Cool, congratulations and welcome!

Interesting contrasting rub strips - I've seen a couple of pictures of similar on this forum, but only a couple.

edit: Found the couple of other cars I've seen pics of with the off-color strips. One from Craigslist currently listed, but with S spoilers. The other in this thread here, an '86.

How's the interior? Leather or fabric seats?

A 78/79 5-speed is on my wishlist for future 928's.

Thanks i am excited about it. I know it isn't going to be a beast like the 928s but i can only take it a little past 75 before the cops want to have a look at it too

It is leather on the interior. The seats need to be redone but the motor works fine and moves in all directions. It needs a good cleaning on the inside.

Thank you for the welcoming. I have been reading every issue that pops up on the site. A lot of the fixes are for 928S but i can read between the lines.

As soon as they get ride of Crumption life for UT will get a lot better. I was born and raise in Florida, my tream is the Gators. BUT!! i don't get rapped up in the hype, I like to see good football.

Then you are right in the neighborhood to attend "Sharks in the Mountains 2010", or SITM '10. It's a 928 gathering every June in Banner Elk North Carolina hosted by 928 Specialists (one of our site sponsors that appreciate your business).

i did not know they did that in NC, I will do my best to make it there. The tech help from the 928gt and talking with other Sharks is what is going to make the trip worth it the most. Also with it being held in the mountain area that is another plus, driving the curves. One of the reasons i bought a Porsche was to drive in the Smokies. My girl friend has a Z3 and i really enjoy the feel of the German engineering and handling.
