These are the headlights that have always been on my car since I bought it in '95. Not sure if they are stock or upgrades. Thinking about a 7" e-code/HID upgrade but want to make sure what I have now. They say "H4" in small print just under "Cibie" and "E2" whatever that means, but also say "DOT" which makes me think they are definately US lenses, and the pattern looks more like a US headlight.

I am not an expert, maybe someone will chime in but something similar was recently discussed.
I will try to add link. Go back to page 2 and look for "Headlights" BY 6mil and I will learn how to add links
It looks like these are e-codes that meet France's standards (the "2" after the "E") means France.
"HCR" means "Low/high (dip/main) beam headlamp, halogen"
The other markings don't seem to be too imporant.
Still a bit confused by the "DOT". Isn't DOT Dept of Transportation, meaning the lenses are approved in the US? Are some ecodes approved for US use?
This is good news, I had no idea I already had e-codes. Guess maybe my bulbs are getting tired because the lighting is ok, but could be better. Might try HIDs in these lenses now that I know they are ecodes.
