what was rubbing on the cam pulley to were down the teeth?? are the teeth worn down under the belt as well??
Now would be a good time to go to the round tooth belt with all new pulleys........You need to figure out whats causing the cam pulley were first

Teeth are worn down all around the gear. I suspect they were destroyed when the belt slipped, but if you think it's too much damage for such incident, I really have no other idea.

Karl, I think that considering the fact that the motor starts I can safelly asume at least right bank valves are OK.

Adrian there is no way that the belt could wear down the gear like that unless it was ( the belt ) made of steel.
Something seriously damaged this

Forgot to post a follow up here, sorry.

My guess is that someone savagely overtightened the belt. But weird is the driver side gear shows only normal wear. Anyway, I removed the belt and turned the cam on the passenger side, and I could definitelly hear a metallic knock at e certain point. Tested on the driver side and the cam makes a complete turn without any knocking, so I guess it's pretty clear where the damage is.

I purchased two complete towers from a M28/1 engine, so now I'm fixing the engine and gaining some hp at the same time .

On the long run, still looking to buy a good 16V Euro S engine.

you still need to figure out what caused the pulley to wear down,
From the picture it could only have been a piece of steel and there would have been all kinds of shavings .
I guess that you going to find a broken cam in the tower
