Default CL Boston 86 Project

http://boston.craigslist.org/bmw/cto/1415103019.html

Guys, this one looks to have 930 wheel, cups, D-90's ? and a few other pieces that alone could be worth what you could buy it for.

I'll bet 1K and a trailer is all youd need.

Looks like spoiler delete in rear, like the one in my avatar. I think they shipped some delete packages to the NE due to snow tendencies.

Wish it was closer. Sounds like a great deal.

You've got that trailer, Chris... Seriously, somebody up there ought to take a look at this one!

'86.5 auto project! WPOJBO92XGS862420

That's a no-brainer at $2000, OBO.

The spoiler and rubstrips have been taken off. They appear to be inside the car.

Nice color combo.

You're right as usual. 86.5 Not a spoiler delete. Excellent value.
Somebody needs to ****** this up.

Hey Guys,
I just returned from looking at the car. I paid a deposit and will be picking the car up tomorrow. The last thing I need right now is another 928 project, but it was too good of a deal to pass up. At this point, I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it. First thing is to get it running. Supposedly the drivetrain is good. If not, it's probably a parts candidate.

Might want to take a few fender bolts with you. With the front bumper off, all the air will go under the fenders and act like a parachute. Those wire ties could then easily come off during shipping.
If yo are flatbedding it, try to put in on facing backwards. Less stress on th efenders.

So the car is now at my house, and I've had a chance to go through the parts that came with the car. It looks like the PO was planning to convert it to a manual. The parts include a bell housing, crossmember, pedals, shift ****/boot, brand new Valeo clutch kit for a S4, and some of the internals from a S4 manual transmission (I think). It also came with a spare set of 944 club sport wheels (9" rears, 7" fronts), a bunch of unused maintenance items (new belts, waterpump, pads, rotors), and a couple of extra doors with windows. The car itself appears to be in pretty good cosmetic shape. Supposedly it runs, but that remains to be seen. It looks tan in this photo, but I think that it is actually white gold metallic.

I have no interest in doing a 5-speed conversion, so these parts will all be for sale. I'll start another thread with prices once I figure out exactly what I have.
