if i recall, the rear coupler can be mispositioned on the shaft, in regards to the allen set screw - it might appear tight when trying to move it by hand, but the increased leverage of using the shifter may cause it to move or become misaligned if it's not in the right spot in the first place -
the screw may have been tight, but if it wasn't aligned with the spot on the shaft that is made to accept the screw, it may be moving around on you, thus the wrong centering position, etc. -
I pulled the boot off and found to my dissmay that everything was working perfectly. The problem seems to be in the trans. I don't know why one of those springs would keep it from going into the 4-5 gate, maybe someone can explain?
Is there any reason the centering couldn't be done from the shifter or atleast the same way everyone else does it that doesn't cause a problem???? Why the **** would this stupidity exist. All to just center the damn shift ****!!!
