I've been told 96.5 ft/lbs.

Used to put the lugs on dry.
Heard both camps about anti-seize on the studs and on the ball seat of the lugs nuts.
Now I've got anti-seize on the lug threads and the seats.
No more nasty graaaunch when I break loose the lug nuts.

I stripped an aluminum lug nut once, had to drill out the whole stud and scratched my wheel.

The remaining 19 aluminum lug nuts went into the trash can and I replaced them with steel lug nuts.

I also use anti-seize on the studs now.

I bought a few lugnuts from 928Intl when I first got my car to replace the wheel locks, they were ~$6 a piece. A while back I ordered a set of 20 lug nuts from Vertex, which were closer to ~$2 per. There is no comparison to the quality of the anodizing or finishing on the Vertex lugs, they're cheaply made. Proving once again that you often get what you pay for.

I Had to stick the socket in the vise to tap out the defunct lug nut.

I have been using a 19mm Metrinch socket, thin wall, and the socket works on the flats not the points. near impossible to damage a nut. Sets are not expensive, (they also sell individual sockets and spanners) I notice on their site that they also have a 19mm deep socket.

My Snap-on sockets hav. What they called flank drive back in their days. They still mark the factory lugnuts. So the lined socket from Mark gets the duty these days.
