We've been spared big snow storms the last few winters, but once in a while we'll get 2 feet dropped on us overnight. Yes, people overreact to the snow and have absolutely no clue how to drive in it. 1" of snow = instant traffic nightmare.

There's a county in VA that will close schools because of flurries (Fauquier? sp?). The rest are not so totally insane, but getting there. 2-4" will usually do the trick to close schools. 1" = 2 hour delay.

Black ice is VERY common, and it's excellent for permanently removing naively confident SUV owners from the world.

Littlestown or Gettysburg PA. 1hr 15 min. hrs to DC 30 min to Fred. 55 min. Baltimore. Most who have moved here in the past 10 years work in DC or Baltimore. Good livin' baby!
