When Spring Mountain was Bragg-Smith, the first thing the Chief Instructor asked was "Has anyone been to Skip Barber?" When no one responded in the positive, he said, "Good. We won't have to un-teach you anything."

Don't flame me. I'm just the messenger.

The Level-1 3-Day beginners course is $3295. But, you may still be able to get a couple-hundred dollar discount if you are a Corvette Forum member (free.)

What makes SM unique - AFAIK - is that the track they run on was designed and built by Bragg-Smith and the (at the time) three instructors as a "school track." Every turn is designed to teach a different skill.

Isn't $3495 enough to buy a Lemons car and race it a couple seasons?

My main problem with a driving class is that they keep wanting to teach me something, and I want to go have fun on the track.

Once, someone a lot faster than me, wrote that $1 spent on instruction is worth $10 in mods.

Last time we were at SM, there was a group of three brothers and one, new, young, Trophy Wife. The brothers spent their time driving around trying to go fast while Mrs. New-***** listened to the instructors and did what they instructed. She had never driven a manual-shift car until Day 1. On Day 3, the brothers were quite pissed when the instructor radioed them and ordered them to let her by. Because she was much faster than they.
