Default Cup I replicas for sale in Wheel & Tire forum

Front offset is not ideal for the 928, but they should work. Thought the polished rim/painted spoke combination looked good. The one wheel in particular needs some work (rim rash and slightly out of round), but the price seems attractive. I have no vested interest in these, just ran across them and thought they'd look good on someone's 928.

Nice find. I may be interested but what would be the problem with the front offset - may rub? How would that effect the car's handling?

52 offset will work OK with a 225 front tire.

Stock front offset on the 7.5" OEM D90, Cup 1, and Cup 2 is 65mm. These have 52mm, meaning this particular wheel will be pushed outward 13mm (slightly over 1/2") further than stock.

I believe on GT's or others with rolled fenders they would not rub, others I just don't know. Furthermore, there may be some handling and safety issues in certain situations (i.e. in a blowout) with the lower offset.

Much better commentary than I can offer can be found here:

Thanks, I'll do some research. I sent a pm that I may be interested, curious how much to fix the one out of round. His add says he's located in Northern Ca and I'm in San Francisco so possibly no shipping charges.

Found this in the pdf Jarrod posted so I guess they're no good or have opinions changed since this was written?

Kim Crumb, well
known and respected on Rennlist, is adamant that 911 wheel geometry is wrong for the 928:
‘‘... 52 offset or something ... so the tire has been movedout an half inch ... that doesn’t work on the
front of 928s ... one implication is that it means there’s no availability of anyinexpensive wheels that
would properly fulfill that [928 front wheel] application ... sorry.’’

This from Mark Edwards on the Australian landshark mailing list:
‘‘The first wheels that I had on my GT courtesy of the previous owner were Mille Miglia cup 2
replicas ET47 & 52. Iwas not happywith them as theywere scratched and I believedmuch heavier
than the originals. I got a real set of cup 1’s ... and couldn’t believe how much more stable the car
was.’’

I believe the second quote are the exact wheels for sale. Too bad since the price was great and they're only about an hour from me.
